Short answer: most iPhones from 2018 onwards and most Android flagships from 2017 onwards are NFC enabled phones. Open Settings → search "NFC". If it appears under Connected devices or Connection preferences, your phone supports NFC tags.

iPhone

iPhone XS (2018) or newer → tap an NFC tag to open a link instantly, no app needed. iPhone 7/8/X → works with a free NFC reader app. iPhone 6s or older → cannot read NFC tags.

India variants

Redmi, Realme, Poco and Moto often ship the India version without NFC even when the global version has it. Always check your exact model sold in India — don't rely on international spec sheets.
